SDM Perfumes is a United Kingdom perfume retailer based in Edinburgh. We sell fragrances from Lattafa, Al Haramain, Orientica, and other Middle Eastern and international perfume houses. All products are sourced from authorised distributors or directly from the brands themselves. We do not sell testers, decants, copies, or counterfeits.
Because perfumes are classified as liquids and flammable goods (UN1170 / ID8000), all orders are shipped in compliance with UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations and Royal Mail Dangerous Goods rules.
1. Shipping Destinations
We ship to addresses within the United Kingdom, including England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and the Channel Islands.
Please note: We do not currently ship internationally (EU or worldwide). We cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes, BFPO addresses, or automated parcel lockers due to carrier restrictions on dangerous goods.
2. Order Cut-Off and Handling Times
- Order Cut-Off Time: 2:00 PM GMT / BST (Monday to Friday). Orders placed after this time begin processing the following business day.
- Handling Time: 1–2 business days (Monday to Friday). Orders are not processed or dispatched on weekends or UK public bank holidays.
3. Delivery Methods, Transit Times, and Costs
All UK orders are dispatched via Royal Mail Tracked services, packaged in accordance with ID8000 Limited Quantity rules.

Total Estimated Delivery Time = Handling Time (1–2 business days) + Transit Time.
Example: An order placed Monday at 10:00 AM is handled by Tuesday and delivered via Tracked 48 by Thursday or Friday.
4. Regional Transit Variations
Transit times may vary depending on your UK region:
- Mainland UK: 1–3 business days
- Scottish Highlands & Islands: 2–5 business days
- Northern Ireland: 2–4 business days
- Channel Islands: 2–5 business days
5. Order Tracking
Once your order is dispatched, an automated email containing your Royal Mail tracking link will be sent to your registered email. You can also check your shipment status by logging into your account on sdmperfumes.co.uk under "Order History".
If you do not receive a tracking number within 2 business days of placing your order, contact us at contact@sdmperfumes.co.uk.
6. Packaging and Regulatory Compliance
To comply with the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Royal Mail Dangerous Goods regulations, all shipments are packed using:
- Original manufacturer cellophane preserved on every product, with brand seals intact
- Leak-proof inner wrapping and cushioning
- Rigid outer cardboard packaging
- Required Limited Quantity (ID8000) hazard diamond labelling
Note: Orders containing more than 4 items of 150 ml or larger may be split into multiple parcels at no additional cost to you.
7. Missed Deliveries and Address Accuracy
Missed Delivery: If you are unavailable to accept delivery, Royal Mail will leave a "Something for You" card. Your parcel will be held at your local Delivery Office for 18 calendar days. If unclaimed, it will be returned to us. A redelivery fee may apply.
Incorrect Address: The customer is responsible for providing accurate shipping details at checkout. If you spot an error, notify us at contact@sdmperfumes.co.uk before 2:00 PM on the day of order, and we will update it if it has not yet been dispatched. We cannot issue refunds or replacements for items delivered to an incorrect address provided by the buyer.
8. Lost or Damaged Shipments
Lost Shipments: A parcel is classified as lost by Royal Mail if it has not arrived after 10 business days from the date of dispatch. After this window, we will open an investigation and issue a full refund or send a replacement.
Damaged Shipments: If your package arrives damaged, please email clear photos of the outer box and the affected product to contact@sdmperfumes.co.uk within 48 hours of delivery. We will arrange a replacement or full refund.
9. Out-of-Stock Items
If an ordered item is temporarily unavailable, we will email you within 1 business day with the option to wait for restock, exchange for an equivalent product, or receive a full refund.
10. In-Store Click & Collect
Customers local to Edinburgh can collect their orders free of charge:
- Collection Point: SDM Perfumes (inside Bismillah Food Store), 6 Nicolson Square, Edinburgh, EH8 9BH
- Collection Hours: Daily from 11:00 AM
- Availability: Click & Collect orders are typically ready within 2 hours of payment confirmation. Please bring your order confirmation email and a valid photo ID.
11. Order Cancellations
You may cancel any order free of charge before it has been dispatched. Email contact@sdmperfumes.co.uk with your order number. If your order has already left our Edinburgh facility, our Return & Refund Policy applies.
12. Taxes and Currency
All prices on our website are displayed in British Pounds (GBP, £) and include UK VAT at the prevailing rate. No additional duties or taxes apply to deliveries within the UK.
