Orders & Products
Are your fragrances authentic?
Yes. Every fragrance we sell is sourced from authorised distributors or directly from the brands. Products are shipped in their original manufacturer packaging with brand seals and cellophane intact. We do not sell decants, testers, or refilled bottles.
Where are the fragrances from?
Our fragrances are produced in the United Arab Emirates by established perfume houses including Lattafa, Al Haramain, and Orientica. They are shipped to the UK and stored at our Edinburgh location.
How do I choose the right fragrance?
Each product page lists the full fragrance notes (top, heart, base), the olfactory family, and recommended seasons and occasions. If you are unsure, visit our Edinburgh store for a free in-person consultation.
Are your fragrances unisex?
Most Middle Eastern fragrances are designed as unisex. Each product page indicates the target gender, but you are welcome to choose any fragrance regardless of how it is categorised.
Do you offer samples?
Not currently. You can visit our Edinburgh store to test fragrances in person.
Shipping
Where do you ship?
We currently ship across the United Kingdom only.
How much does shipping cost?
Standard UK shipping is £4.99. Free UK shipping applies to orders over £40. Edinburgh local pickup is free.
How long does delivery take?
Standard UK delivery: 3–5 working days. Express UK delivery: 1–2 working days, available at checkout. Orders placed before 2:00 PM ship the same working day.
Do you ship internationally?
Not yet. We are focused on UK customers at this stage.
Will I receive a tracking number?
Yes. Once your order ships, you will receive an email with the tracking number and courier details.
Returns
Can I return a fragrance?
Yes, within 14 days of delivery, provided the product is unused, the original packaging is intact, and the cellophane and brand seal are unbroken.
Can I return an opened bottle?
For hygiene and safety reasons, we cannot accept returns on opened or used fragrances.
How do I start a return?
Email contact@sdmperfumes.co.uk with your order number and reason for return. We will send return instructions within 24 hours.
Who pays for return shipping?
If the product is faulty or wrong, we cover return shipping. If you have changed your mind, return shipping is at your cost.
How long do refunds take?
Refunds are processed within 3–5 working days of receiving your return. The money typically appears in your account within 1–3 additional business days, depending on your bank.

Where is your physical store?
6 Nicolson Square, Edinburgh, EH8 9BH, United Kingdom. The shop is located inside Bismillah Food Store.
What are your opening hours?
Daily from 11:00 AM. Closing times may vary — please call ahead if visiting late.
Can I order online and collect in-store?
Yes. Select Edinburgh pickup at checkout. We will email you when your order is ready.
Can I test fragrances in the shop?
Yes. We have testers for most fragrances. Visit us during opening hours.
Payment
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, and Klarna (buy now, pay later).
Is payment secure?
Yes. All payments are processed through Shopify Payments and Stripe, both PCI-DSS compliant. We never store your card details.
Are prices shown in GBP?
Yes. All prices on our website are in British Pounds (GBP) and include VAT where applicable.
Will I be charged customs or duties?
No. We ship from within the UK, so no customs or import duties apply.
Gifting
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Yes. Orientica and Lattafa gift sets come pre-packaged in decorative boxes suitable for gifting.
Can I include a personal message?
Yes. Add your message in the Order Notes field at checkout, and we will include a handwritten card.
Can I send a gift directly to someone else?
Yes. Enter their address as the shipping address at checkout. We will not include any pricing on the packaging.
Account
Do I need an account to order?
No. Guest checkout is available. Creating an account lets you track orders, save addresses, and view purchase history.
How is my personal data handled?
We follow UK GDPR requirements. Full details are available in our Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account or data?
Email contact@sdmperfumes.co.uk with the subject "Data deletion request" and we will remove your account within 30 days.
