    This Return & Refund Policy explains how returns, refunds, and cancellations work for orders placed with SDM Perfumes, in alignment with the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

    Every product we sell from Lattafa, Al Haramain, Orientica, and our other partner brands is sourced from authorised distributors or directly from the brands themselves, and inspected before dispatch from our Edinburgh location.


    1. Return Window

    We offer a 30-day return policy. You have 30 calendar days from the date your parcel is delivered to request a return and post the item back to us. Requests made after this 30-day period cannot be accepted.


    2. Product Eligibility Criteria

    To qualify for a refund, returned items must meet the following conditions:

    • The perfume must be unopened, unused, and untested.
    • The original outer manufacturer cellophane wrap and brand seals must be intact and unbroken.
    • The original packaging, boxes, labels, and any included accessories must be undamaged.

    Exemption: In accordance with UK consumer law, opened or used fragrances (cellophane removed, cap removed, or sprayed) and sample or decant vials are exempt from return for health and hygiene reasons.


    3. How to Initiate a Return

    1. Email our customer support team at contact@sdmperfumes.co.uk within your 30-day window.
    2. Provide your order number and the specific item(s) you wish to return.
    3. Our team will respond within 1 business day with your Return Authorisation details and instructions for packaging your item.

    Please do not ship items back to our Edinburgh facility without receiving prior authorisation from our team.


    4. Return Shipping Cost Allocation

    Who covers the cost of return postage depends on the reason for the return:

    When SDM Perfumes is responsible for the return shipping cost, we will email you a prepaid Royal Mail return label at no charge. For change-of-mind returns, the customer covers the return postage.


    5. Return Shipping Procedure

    Return Address: Once authorised, please return your securely packaged item via a trackable service to:

    Carrier Rule: Because perfumes are classified as flammable liquids (Dangerous Goods), you must declare the contents at the counter as a perfume under Royal Mail ID8000 limited quantity rules.

    Tracking: We recommend using a trackable service (such as Royal Mail Tracked). We cannot issue refunds for items lost in transit without tracking proof.


    6. Refund Processing and Timelines

    • Inspection: Within 2 business days of your return arriving at our Edinburgh location, our team will inspect the item to verify that the brand seals and cellophane remain intact.
    • Notification: We will send you an email confirming whether your return has been approved based on its condition. If an item does not meet our eligibility criteria (for example, it has been opened or sprayed), it cannot be refunded and can be sent back to you at your expense.
    • Refund Issuance: Approved refunds are processed back to your original payment method (credit/debit card or PayPal).
    • Bank Clearance: Please allow 5 to 10 business days for the funds to appear on your bank or card statement, depending on your financial institution.

    7. Refund Amounts

    • For Damaged or Incorrect Items: You will receive a full refund of the product price plus the original outbound shipping fee paid at checkout.
    • For Change of Mind: You will receive a refund for the product price paid. The original outbound shipping cost and return postage are non-refundable.
    • Discounted or Promotional Orders: Items purchased using discount codes or during promotional sales are eligible for returns. The refund will match the net amount paid at checkout.

    8. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

    If your order arrives damaged, leaking, or incorrect, notify us within 48 hours of delivery by emailing contact@sdmperfumes.co.uk.

    Include:

    • Your order number
    • A brief description of the issue
    • Clear photos of the outer packaging and the affected product

    We will respond within 1 business day to arrange a replacement or a full refund. In most cases, you will not need to return the affected bottle.


    9. Exchanges

    We do not currently offer direct product exchanges. If you prefer a different fragrance, please return your unopened item for a refund under this policy and place a new order at sdmperfumes.co.uk.


    10. In-Store Click & Collect Returns

    If you collected your order in person at our store, you may return eligible, unopened items directly to our counter during opening hours (daily from 11:00 AM). Please bring your online order confirmation and a valid photo ID. Approved in-store returns will be refunded to your original online payment method within 1–3 business days.


    11. Statutory Rights

    This policy operates alongside your statutory rights as a UK consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. For independent advice, you can contact Citizens Advice at 0808 223 1133.
